///// INFINITUM macOS Apple Silicon release build (DESKTOP APP)

This build is currently for Apple Silicon Macs only (M1/M2/M3/M4 etc.). Please run Ableton natively, not using Rosetta.
1. Install INFINITUM
   - Open INFINITUM_0.1.1_aarch64.dmg
   - Drag INFINITUM.app into Applications.
   - Launch INFINITUM.
   - Because this is a pre-release build without Apple Developer notarisation, macOS may block the first launch.
If it does:

MAC INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (if above does not work)

1. Drag INFINITUM.app into your Applications folder.

2. Try opening INFINITUM normally.

3. If macOS says the app is from an unidentified developer, go to:

System Settings → Privacy & Security

Scroll down and click “Open Anyway” for INFINITUM.

4. If macOS instead says:

“INFINITUM is damaged and can’t be opened”

open the Terminal app:

Finder → Applications → Utilities → Terminal

Then paste this command into Terminal and press Enter:

sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/INFINITUM.app"

macOS may ask for your login password.

Type your Mac password and press Enter.

IMPORTANT: when typing the password into Terminal, nothing will appear on screen — no dots, stars or characters. This is normal, its hidden.

Once the command has finished, close Terminal and open INFINITUM normally from your Applications folder.

//////// macOS KEYCHAIN - DESKTOP AUTHORISATION /////////

INFINITUM uses Apple Keychain to protect its desktop authorisation credentials
and the key used to access its encrypted audio cache.

On first launch, or after installing a new desktop version, macOS may ask
you to allow INFINITUM to access a Keychain item. This is separate from
macOS's Open Anyway approval described above.

WHEN A KEYCHAIN PROMPT APPEARS:

1. Check that the request is from INFINITUM. Its items may be shown as:

   com.samplegenie.infinitum-desktop

2. Enter your login Keychain password. This is normally the password you
use to log into your Mac, rather than your Sample Genie website password.

3. Click ALWAYS ALLOW.

Always Allow remembers permission for that item and the installed app.
Allow / Allow Once permits a single access, so the prompt may return.

4. You may see more than one INFINITUM prompt because desktop authorisation
and cache access use separate protected items. Complete each INFINITUM
   request with Always Allow.

If INFINITUM stays on CHECKING LICENCE while a Keychain prompt is open,
complete the Keychain request first. The licence check may be waiting for
access to your stored authorisation credentials.

A later app update may require you to approve Keychain access again.

IF KEYCHAIN ACCESS FAILS OR PASSWORD PROMPTS KEEP RETURNING:

1. Quit INFINITUM and save any other open work.
2. Restart your Mac normally.
3. Log back into your Mac and launch INFINITUM from Applications.
4. Complete any INFINITUM Keychain prompts using Always Allow.

If the password is still rejected, your login Keychain password may differ
from your current Mac password, particularly after a password change or
reset. Contact support or your Mac administrator for help. Include your
Mac model/chip, macOS version and the exact error message; keep passwords
out of screenshots.

Do not reset your Keychain or delete INFINITUM's Keychain entries as a
routine troubleshooting step. This can remove stored authorisation
credentials or the key needed to read existing encrypted cache files.

WHEN REINSTALLING THE DESKTOP APP:

Quit INFINITUM, move only /Applications/INFINITUM.app to the Bin, then
install the new app from its DMG and launch it from Applications.

Leave your saved workspaces, app data, cache and INFINITUM Keychain entries
in place. Removing the app bundle alone preserves these stored items.

//////// OUTPOST - MAC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (VST Connector plugin)
Apple Silicon (arm64) - Version 0.1.0

Installer: INFINITUM_OUTPOST_0.1.0_arm64.pkg

TO INSTALL OUTPOST:

1. Quit your DAW.

2. Extract the downloaded ZIP.

3. Double-click INFINITUM_OUTPOST_0.1.0_arm64.pkg.

4. If macOS blocks the installer because the developer cannot be verified,
dismiss the warning and keep the file. Then:

   - Open Apple menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security.
   - Scroll down to the blocked installer message.
   - Click Open Anyway.
   - Authenticate if requested, then click Open.

Only approve the installer if you trust the source of your download.

5. Follow the installer prompts. Enter your Mac administrator password
   if requested.

6. Restart your DAW and rescan VST3 plugins if necessary.

The installer places the complete OUTPOST VST3 bundle here:

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/INFINITUM OUTPOST.vst3

This is the system-wide VST3 folder. You do not need to copy the plugin
there manually.

IF MACOS BLOCKS THE INSTALLED PLUGIN

If installation succeeds but macOS specifically blocks the installed
OUTPOST plugin because of quarantine:

1. Quit your DAW.

2. Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

3. Paste this command exactly and press Enter:

sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/INFINITUM OUTPOST.vst3"

4. If Terminal asks for your password, type your Mac administrator
   password and press Enter.

Nothing appears while you type your password: no dots, stars or
   characters. This is normal.

5. Close Terminal.

6. Restart your DAW and rescan VST3 plugins if necessary.

OUTPOST should then appear as:

INFINITUM OUTPOST

////// OPERATION
