Hi everyone!
This is my first post but I’ve been subscribed to Sample Genie for a while now. I have been producing a while but have always been frustrated with the opportunities to hear my music on a club sound system.
It is a valuable tool in finishing a mix for release! So i have set up my own club night allowing new producers to do exactly that..
The event is called Producers House UK.
Please check it out https://www.facebook.com/ProducersHouseUKThe first hour of the event will be showcasing new producers music.
This will then be followed by DJs as normal.
For our first installment we are joined by Award winning DJ, Producer and Record Label owner DJ HYBRID + support.
DJ HYBRID (Deep In The Jungle Records / Audio Addict Records)
JESSIE JO (Heavy Duty Records)
VIBE ASSASSINS (Off The Ground Records)The event is in London, at Work Bar on Wednesday 24th October.
Let me know what you think.
Many thanks
Gareth

I think this is the same event I saw mentioned on The Funk Forum on FB?
I’m stateside, but my city has a monthly happy hour that does this, is really nice opportunity. Been running for almost two years now. The organizer takes 20 participants, each gets to play one track in full, on a Function One sound system, at full volume. I’ve been a couple times, definitely gives you some new perspective on your work (i.e. “my side sounds have disappeared!”), plus you get a chance to meet some other producers from your area.

Yo Harry!
Yes indeed it is 🙂 .. Big up The Funk Forum
Yeah man, thats what we’re hoping for. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback. Just not a great deal of demo slots taken as yet, but there’s still a few weeks until the event so i’m hoping this will change.
Was your one stateside busy?.. or just the 20 producers?

Most of the producers are house and techno people, only one or two people at mine were testing dnb tracks, and those two guys are regulars. I’ve only been to two of the events. The crowd would get to about 40 or 50 people throughout the event (6PM to 9PM). Ironically, most nights they do this it’s a dnb monthly that takes place in the same room (about a 200 person capacity). Most people in to dnb in my city just want to be DJs, not many in to production.
