sounding wicked! Very nice mixing and sound choices. Do you have a label lined up at the moment?
-

Nope no label. I am holding back I want to make the best first impression i can, thats the theory I have thought is the way to go anyway.
There is a thought that maybe sending out wip to get a little guidance and support could be the other option just not sure whats the best decision.
Also not really up with all the labels and who would be interested in the sound im doing.
Thanks for the reply man 🙂

does anyone else have a habit of trying to push their mix into the 5-3.5rms range? i think i destroy half my mixes just trying to achieve this. I always think thats what i like about certain songs is that they are just so sausaged and even volume wise and thats why.. just pushing them to extreme rms values but maybe im missing something here. any thoughts on this?

Track i finished just recently decided to upload it. let me know what you think.

Very tidy dude, mix-wise it’s sounding pretty lush. The only thing I think you could improve is the arrangement… It may have been your intent to let the vibe roll on (in which case you can ignore this), however a bit more variation is always nice to string along the listener :).

Thanks man. You are right it does drag on a bit without too much variation. Something i struggle with keeping things interesting without it getting too messy and all over the place. This session is a prick as my computer just overloads when i press play so i didn’t go in on it any further, was a lesson learnt to keep sessions less cpu demanding. Cheers for the feedback dude helps a lot.

No sweat dude, always happy to provide feedback:). I can relate to working with shitty CPU allocation etc. as it is quite limiting. Currently working with Logic myself, feeling it’s time to move on once the tunes stuck in 9 are finished!

That’s really good. A lovely vibe – good atmospheres and rolling drums.

Really nice vibe dude. I’m only listening on crappy headphones at work but it sounds like the bongo/clave rhythm gets a little bit lost when the rides come in at 1.50ish, might just need a subtle multiband sidechain on those mid frequencies to keep the bongo sound tight. Other than that, nice rolling little track in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback mate glad you liked it, should have some more stuff up soon. That was actually done on purpose was getting sick of the sound rolling along and thought was getting messy in that second section, but your technique probably would have saved the day really need to try that more. I’m using fabfilter mb its so nice being able to work with bands instead of the whole sound. What plugs are you using for sidechaining?
-

Yeah Pro-MB for me too, it was a real game changer when it came out and it’s still the best thing on the market. Being able to do free-band multiband sidechaining took so much work out of having to automate EQs. IMO the best plugin in the last few years.

I’m only seeing Cryogenics and WIP but they’re both tight little tunes, especially liking the former. Very polished and nicely structured. Take a bow that man.
