Hey guys, not meaning to sound like a negative nelly, but is there any chance we could get some standardisation between the tutorials audio levels? The latest Joe Ford tutorials are so quiet during the talking phases, and the DAW levels so loud it makes it pretty difficult to listen to on monitors.
Still, quality content. Just a gripe.

Good call SF.
This is something ive thought too.
I only watch the tutorials on the tv through PS4 late in the evenings, have to use headphones so as not to blast badly matched levels through the house.Might as well mention this here also but the last 4 or 5 videos wont play correctly through PS4, weird green graphical glitch on the screen, can hear everything ok, its just the visuals.
Anyone else notice this?
Cheers

Thanks guys, helpful input.. and yes, we’ll work on making the audio slightly less loud in the music areas – although it helps to hear the details better, particularly on headphones, perhaps better for monitors to have them a bit quieter.
Regarding the PS4 playback video issue, we’ve actually not had this reported as yet, so something new to look into. They are hosted on the Vimeo Pro server, so we’ll contact them and see if they have any thoughts on the matter whether an update might fix the issue. Will let you know what we find out…

To follow up on the PS4 video issue, ive had a play around with the internet browser and Vimeo settings and it looks like these last few videos wont play on 1080p, switching to 720p has sorted it.

@Sunken Forest: The new Hybris video is online!
We have thought about your feedback, and implemented some changes to the way the audio is done now.
Please let us know (and anybody else for that matter) what you think of the audio on this latest video.
Thanks xx

I can’t seem to access the video on Opera, Safari or Android Firefox. It’s odd because the embedded video was there yesterday, but gone today. Same for all my previous videos.
I get this error message.
Oops!
The embed code for this video is not valid. -

Another member brought up the issue, and Sample Genie has been emailed about it. Will let you know if we hear something on email before a response is posted.

Seems like it’s a Mac issue.

I have been chatting with Shrike and I am having the same “embed code is not valid” issue (also on mac, os x 10.12 on both firefox and chrome).
Yesterday there was nothing; at this point Iceworm has returned (in a much smaller embed window) but no other videos are listed or searchable.

Hi Guys,
We are just ironing out some bugs with the videos tab, some new features on the system have thrown things out.
@BitNomad: Looking at the site through your account, everything seems to be looking right in terms of the embed window size, if you are still seeing anything strange it would be a real help if you can please send a screen shot? either using https://imgbb.com/ or email to [email protected]
As you joined last month, you should also be seeing more videos than just this months – this will all be corrected tomorrow, thanks for your patience on this. -

I emailed the screenshots to you, Genie. You should have them, lemme know if I need to resend

I just emailed screenshots. The div appears to be the correct width but the wrong height (effectively 597×160) so the embed comes through at 284×160

yea the video container, unless the screen width is 1300+, switches to ultra widescreen even though the video is standard 16:9
@media (min-width: 1000px) { .container { width: 900px; } .video-frame { height: 200px; } }
increase the .video-frame height and it will look normal

@ Bitnomad : Thanks for the input and thoughts and suggested media queries, but a deveoper should always avoid setting rigid widths on a responsive framework such as this. The solution used is the most modern / elegant way of doing things.
It might be that a hard refresh of your browser (CTRL + Refresh) is needed to get the latest Javascript running which takes care of this side of things…All should be well in video land now 😀

I pasted what was rendered from css or computed from less or whatever framework you are using because the responsive computation was broken; it is now fixed.
