      Hi everyone,

I was watching the last tutorials of InsideInfo and was wondering how he could record he’s DAW’s output in Sound Forge.
Is it a special option of this software or is he using something like virtual audio cables?

I could record my things straight in ableton but I found very interesting the idea of being totally free and don’t being forced to have a track in play / rec mode in the daw while sound designing.

      Much thanks !

      Cheers.

I`m not really sure but try

1.In Soundforge preferences or settings you have to switch to the same driver (maybe Asio) like in Live.
      2.Start Soundforge First, then Live

then you should be able to capture your work

      enjoy

I have a DAC for my headphones and SubPac, and it has a recording setting for What You Hear, so I set it to that. Trying to set that to record more when working, build up more & more sounds that I’ve made.

@Clovis if you are on PC, have you tried WinKey+G, to bring up the game bar? It’s meant for gaming, but you can capture the video and audio of any app. You can even grab the previous thirty seconds or so, which is cool…like a DVR for your PC.

I don’t know if it’s viable for an “always on” solution, but it’s handy to know about if yer in a pinch.

Didn’t know about this one @shrike, thank you. But it didn’t work for me because ableton won’t show up in the audio mixer for some reasons. I think it’s because I’m using the Asio Driver Type for my komplete audio 6 because it’s the only driver that allows me to have access to all my sound interfaces inputs, to control it straight by the native instruments software, and simply because it has the less latency.

A solution I found was to use a recorder plugin on the master channel (like the melda productions free MRecorder). I know the topic was to record out of the daw but this alternative also allows to record regardless of the transport mode.

Still waiting for Pauls solution 😀

        Cheers

Also, if you are on windows, and have an nvidia card with geforce installed…shadowplay is actually much nicer than Windows game bar. Alt+z
