Sorry for the rather dry topic suggestion, but I wonder if organization within the daw could be a relavant topic. Whether it is sample folder structure, templates for building a track, or vst plugin presets – I think it would be cool to see and understand how organization affects the workflow.

I know Phaction touches on this in his first set of videos, there might be one or two other tutorials where the person goes in to that. I think the main goal is to make workflow more efficient, so having a structured sample library, using tags or categorization that makes sense to you, or coming up with systems that work for you, all can help, if you think & process information in that way. Some people like a lack of structure, but I have to come up with my own systems to feel in control.

Thanks for the reply Harry. To me, it’s about little workflow improvements that can be very important. For example, I noticed while watching Joe Ford’s course that he was using something that I had not seen before. He made no mention of it, so I had to search. Turned out it was a simple search utility called Everything. That utility now lives on my taskbar and I use it from time to time. Another example is that Noisia mentioned at some point that they keep a folder structure organized by date. I have also heard Thys speak about the naming of his files. I know that everyone will do things slightly different, but I always enjoy learning these elements of the process. I have made templates before though, only to not use them because I don’t want to start from the same place everytime. It is a mixed bag trying to be more organized.
