This is me:

I used Serum for all things. Well, except for the vox. It was esp fun working out the high freq perc stuff. Might be my fave part of this one.
Freeman, I’m feeling yours, esp at the drop.
6F7A, link says tune has been removed…

This combo can take hours of audio and slice it up into however many bits you’d like, the renamer is just to keep things coherent

I’ve written four different pieces for this over the last month (some you’ve heard). I’ve got a fifth going that I’m going to push until the deadline.
Reserving comment on all entries until all entries are in!

,shrikeParticipantWelcome, Defender! Happy to see you posting your work here.
Yeah def worth continuing. I think you’re likely at the “mix polish” stage, and I think, if it were me, I would hit the drums first and get them polished up and at the levels you’d like (kick & snare somewhere between -10 to -6 dbfs is a good target), then build the rest of the mix around it, with that lowest sub fundamental being the next thing to attack.
Keep going!

,shrikeParticipantYup.
To put it another way, you’re currently collecting Gridlok and Nymfo, etc samples that they may reference in their future videos.
Although it is up to the presenter if they use them in the lesson.
Some do, some do not.
This season is starting out well strong. I have to admit that I’m teeming over the Gridlok lessons. Being a yank myself, he’s been one of my heroes for a very long time. He’s one of the most legit U.S. producers, imho.

Updated this one with a stabby lead. Is it getting too abstract…?
And it’s an anti-drop. Like a two stage thing with a delayed fuse, but not in your face about it. Just experimenting.
lemme know

,shrikeParticipantKrilla this is nice!
Mix is coming along. Rhodesy pad may be a little loud, and intermittent side reesey sound could maybe be brought to the foreground a little more.

,shrikeParticipantHow do you monitor? Midi input?
Doesn’t need to be external hardware. I enjoy seeing the space itself as well.

,shrikeParticipantSounds like this:

All sounds from above pictured rack, except for the drums, which are courtesy of Nymfo, from this month’s sample pack.

,shrikeParticipantVoxengo Span (or some equivalent spectrum analyzer…Span just has some very nice features, and is free)
Use it, learn it, it probably should be at the heart of everything you do.
Also, don’t underestimate simple solutions, like virtualpiano.net + your ears.

,shrikeParticipantI dunno about stems, but if you make it downloadable it’s easier to assess, as I can take into the DAW & put under the microscope.
I don’t think the highs are too high just from listening, but the whole thing is definitely fit to bust. That’s not a negative comment, we make loud music, and yours is following suite.
In soundcloud, edit your track, go into permissions, and make it downloadable.
I thought this when I originally listened: very Sub Focus-y vibe, which is not at all a bad thing.

,shrikeParticipantVery nice! I love the vocoder-y main riff.
The female vox is buried a little too much for me. If it’s gonna be in there, I say hero it more, to bring it to the front…or ditch it.
Nice tune!
